Traoré stressed that stability in Niger is crucial to Burkina Faso’s security, stating unequivocally that the best way to defend ourselves is to attack beyond our borders. «If Niger is destabilised, Burkina is screwed» he summed up, emphasising a proactive approach to ensuring national security. President I. Traoré also expressed his gratitude to the Burkina Faso diaspora, praising their mobilisation and commitment to the message of restoring and safeguarding the homeland. On the question of elections, Captain I. Traoré stressed the need to ensure that every Burkinabe has the opportunity to choose their President. He announced his intention to clean up the political environment, stressing the importance of creating an inclusive electoral process that truly reflects the will of the people. Particular mention was made of the idea of a new constitution. The President expressed his wish to make overtures, pointing out that some 4.000 people are currently in prison awaiting trial. «I am against prison; prison is for those who kill, for those who commit economic crimes» he asserted, putting forward a humanist and balanced vision of justice.

Communication in times of crisis was also discussed. President Ibrahim Traoré insisted on the need for communication tinged with patriotic love, stressing that as long as the people are on their feet, fatigue is not an option.
