Burkina Faso: Economic and Financial Crimes, The Burkinabe Bar Will Seriously Watch

Economic and financial offences in Burkina Faso will be the subject of great attention, in this new judicial year 2023-2024. A year under the Theme, «the judicial treatment of economic and financial offences: state of play and prospects».

The Burkinabe bar, at the opening of the judicial year, a ceremony attended by the president of the transition Ibrahim TRAORE, expressed his interest in this fight. It is precisely a question of identifying the inadequacies in the processing of this cases and of finding mechanisms to improve legal services in this regard.

According to the Burkinabe judicial authorities, economic and financial delinquency covers offences ranging from corruption to money laundering, tax fraud, fraud and others. It is important to stand up seriously against these offences, which are a real obstacle to the country’s economic development.

 

This scourge benefits only a handful of people or certain political barons who enrich themselves on the backs of the state and the poor citizen. From now on, the cases of these economic criminals will be treated with greater attention and rigour. This will help crack down on criminals and discourage those who are tempted to engage in these same practices.
