Togo: Universal Access to Care, A Commitment From President Faure Gnassingbé
The Togolese President, H.E. Faure Gnassingbé, aims to achieve 60% universal healthcare coverage by 2025. To achieve this, President Faure Gnassingbé has decided to extend this coverage to other sections of the Togolese population.
A world-class reference hospital, Dogta-Lafiè, built by the Togolese President, to strengthen the health service offer in Togo. The establishment of this referral hospital fulfils one of President Faure Gnassingbé’s wishes: universal access to healthcare.
President Faure Gnassingbé is multiplying projects and programmes to achieve his ambition. One such project is the essential quality health service for universal health coverage.
The aim of the project, which is being implemented in every region of Togo, is to provide essential health care and services to women, children and vulnerable people. Through this project, President Faure Gnassingbé is highlighting the provision of quality health and nutrition services.
In less than two years since it was launched, the project has enabled the medical and maternity units to be renovated. On the ground, several projects are underway. Thanks to the vision of President Faure Gnassingbé, Togo’s health system is proving increasingly reliable.
