Burkina Faso/Energy: Captain Ibrahim TRAORE’s dream of a nuclear power station will soon come true

It has been announced that a memorandum of understanding will be signed in Moscow for the construction of a nuclear power station, as requested by President Ibrahim Traore in July 2023, during a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

Last July, during the Russia-Africa summit, the President of the Transition of Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traore, expressed his fervent desire to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to have, if possible as soon as possible, a nuclear power station in Burkina Faso to cover the energy needs of the sub-region.

The Russian partner is obviously willing to meet this desire, as part of its excellent cooperation with the country of men of integrity, since the advent of Captain Ibrahim TRAORE’s transition. Now that the necessary instructions have been given, specialists in the field in both countries are keen to get down to business.

According to information shared by the Burkina News Agency (AIB), Rosatom, the Russian Federal Atomic Energy Agency, and the Burkina Faso Ministry of Energy will sign on Friday, October 13, 2023 in Moscow, a memorandum of understanding for the construction of a nuclear power plant.

Captain TRAORE, always concerned about the security situation in his country, is taking appropriate initiatives to meet the challenges. The project to build a nuclear power station is part of this vision of the Head of State.
