Rugby Sevens (F) / The Bleues in the final at Cape Town

The French(The Bleues) team beat New Zealand in the Seven Series semifinals at Cap 24-12 and will face Australia for a first title.

The Bleues’ perfect record continues. After making it three out of three in the group stage and beating Fiji in the quarter-finals, the French beat New Zealand in the semi-finals and will now face Australia this Sunday (5.30pm) for the first title in their history.

The Bleues took the match on their own with a double from Anne-Cécile Ciofani in the first half (12-0). The New Zealanders reacted and came back to the challenge but a Camille Grassineau escaped to score a third try before Iän Jason completely delivered his team after the siren (24-12).

They will find Australia, winner of the United States in half (33-5) who eliminated them in the semi-finals in Dubai during the first stage of the Seven Series with the ambition to win a first title.
