Burkina Faso : Captain Ibrahim Traoré and his Fighting Forces crush terrorists in Tia and Tialboanga

In the ongoing effort to eradicate the terrorist threat looming over Burkina Faso, President Ibrahim Traoré and his Fighting Forces have once again written a glorious chapter in the struggle for peace and national security. This Thursday, the Tia forest (Boucle du Mouhoun) and the Tialboanga region (East) witnessed a large-scale operation, marking a victory in the war against terrorism affecting the region.

Through meticulous reconnaissance flights, the Fighting Forces, in collaboration with aerial assets, identified and located a terrorist base hidden in the Tia forest, just 12 km from Bondoukuy (Mouhoun, Boucle du Mouhoun). The discovery of this base on December 28, 2023, was made possible through effective coordination between ground units and aerial operations.

Under a dense tree, pilots spotted a significant number of criminals gathering for a planned meeting. Skywatchers, acting with precision and promptness, initiated targeted strikes on the assailants, causing the complete destruction of the base and its equipment. Ground units from the 10th Rapid Intervention Battalion immediately intervened to encircle the forest, eliminating all survivors and destroying terrorist logistics.

However, the action of the Fighting Forces was not limited to the Tia forest. Several terrorists were spotted around Tialboanga, 7 km from Sakoani in the Matiacoali area (Gourma, East). As these wrongdoers were casually having tea and discussing their plans, a missile deployed from the sky put an end to their last planning meeting. The attackers and their logistics were consumed in a surgical strike.

This victory attests to President Ibrahim Traoré’s unwavering commitment and that of his Fighting Forces to national security. The effective coordination between aerial and ground operations successfully neutralized the terrorist threat, ensuring the protection of citizens.
