LIGA | BARÇA WIN AGAINST LAS PALMAS (1-2)

Barça narrowly escaped. The Blaugranas, with only one victory in their last 4 matches across all competitions, secured a win against Las Palmas (1-2) on Thursday night in injury time, thanks to a penalty obtained and converted by İlkay Gündoğan. With this victory, Xavi’s team is now seven points behind the leading duo, consisting of Real Madrid and Girona.

Barça still struggles, but narrowly pulls through. FC Barcelona players managed to secure a narrow and hard-fought victory against Las Palmas on Thursday, closing the 19th round of La Liga with a 1-2 win.

Munir El Haddadi quickly opened the scoring against his former club (12th minute), but his teammates later conceded an equalizer from Ferran Torres (55th minute), followed by a penalty converted by Ilkay Gündogan in the dying moments (90th+3 minute). Thanks to this success, Xavi’s men are keeping pace with Real Madrid and Girona. They currently stand third, trailing the leaders by seven points.

Barcelona’s new recruit, Vitor Roque, made his debut (78th minute). The 18-year-old Brazilian faced the opposing goalkeeper but was unable to score (81st minute). Showing determination towards the end of the match, the Catalans were awarded a penalty for a push on Gündogan, who took matters into his own hands and scored a crucial goal (1-2, 90th+3 minute).

Barça overcame the newly-promoted team from the Canary Islands, currently positioned in 10th place in the standings. However, Xavi will need to find tactical solutions to reinvigorate his team’s attack.
