Burkina Faso/ President Ibrahim Traoré and his Fighting Forces : Fierce resistance against terrorism

Burkina Faso is grappling with substantial challenges in ensuring the security of its citizens. However, President Ibrahim Traoré and his Combat Forces stand out for their unwavering determination to combat terrorism throughout the Burkinabe territory.

On January 4, 2024, a column of terrorists originating from the Malian border was spotted in the Nassoumbou area, near Djibo in northern Burkina Faso. Timely intelligence allowed for the detection of their presence, just on the outskirts of the locality, thereby averting a potentially devastating large-scale attack.

Sensing danger, the criminals retreated, attempting to flee towards the border and Boulekessi in Malian territory. However, the Burkinabe Combat Forces, equipped with aerial assets, swiftly responded to counter this imminent threat.

Attack helicopters were deployed to track down the fleeing terrorist column. With remarkable precision, the aerial assets targeted the criminals, causing fires with their motorcycles and forcing some to disperse into a nearby small forest.

Attack helicopters took over, continuing the pursuit of the criminals. A significant number of them were neutralized, highlighting the effectiveness of the Burkinabe Combat Forces’ operations in the fight against terrorism.

President Ibrahim Traoré and his Combat Forces thus demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the nation’s security, displaying resilience and determination in the face of a persistent threat. Their rapid and effective response to the Nassoumbou incident attests to their ability to anticipate and neutralize terrorist threats, thereby contributing to establishing a climate of security and trust in Burkina Faso.
