Mali/CAN 2023: Eagles called to defend tooth and nail the flag of their beloved Nation
Before their departure for the football competition in Côte d’Ivoire, the Eagles of Mali met the president of the transition, head of state, Colonel Assimi GOAÏTA. A meeting that allowed the Malian president to present the flag to the captain of the national team, colors that they must defend during the competition.
The President of the Republic of Mali, Colonel Assimi GOÏTA, expressed his confidence in the team and encouraged them to take up the challenge with honour, loyalty and dignity to bring the Cup back to Mali. He stressed that the challenge was not above their professional abilities and assured the players of his support and that of the Malian people.
Colonel Assimi GOÏTA gave them useful advice, for a good progress of their participation. He invited them to approach each match with a warrior mindset, thinking that they are the strongest. This will allow them to give the best of themselves to win the victory, the cup, for the honor of the country.
According to the Minister of Youth and Sports, in charge of Civic Education and Citizen Construction, Mr. Abdoul Kassim FOMBA, the Head of State was personally and strongly involved in the preparations of the players, for this CAN. Steps have been taken to support and encourage them.
