Burkina Faso: The dialysis unit of the CHR of Tenkodogo operational, the health policy of the Transition in progress

In the Central-East region, the hemodialysis service at the Regional Hospital of Tenkodogo has undergone a significant transformation. The construction works, initiated in July 2023, have been completed, reaffirming the commitment of the transitional government to public health in Burkina Faso. Thus, President Ibrahim Traoré’s healthcare policy is taking concrete shape for the benefit of the Burkinabe population. The new dialysis unit at this healthcare facility, a product of the healthcare policy of President Captain Ibrahim Traoré, consists of a large dialysis room and a VIP dialysis room with 12 hemodialysis stations capable of accommodating 60 patients.

Healthcare policy is one of the top priorities for President Captain Ibrahim Traoré. In just one year of governance, several initiatives have been launched in this sector. These include the commencement of construction for the University Hospital Center within the premises of the West African University of Saint Dominic in the Central-South region, the start of construction for the new University Regional Hospital Center (CHRU) in the Southwest, and various other healthcare projects.

All these healthcare projects have a specific goal : to make access to healthcare easy for the people and in an equitable manner. This healthcare policy, therefore, aligns with the decree ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare services for all Burkinabé citizens, enacted by the executive upon assuming power.
