Burkina Faso / President Ibrahim Traoré’s iron fist against terrorism : Commandos annihilate terrorist bases

In a series of heroic operations, the 7th and 8th Rapid Intervention Battalions (BIR) under the supreme command of President Ibrahim Traoré have inflicted devastating setbacks on terrorist forces in the Hauts-Bassins and Center-North regions. Armed with courage and determination, these intrepid commandos have shown that they leave nothing in their path when it comes to defending the homeland and its citizens.

The operations were carried out with surgical precision, leaving terrorists no respite, whether during their sleep, moments of relaxation, or violent confrontations. The commandos of the 7th and 8th BIR have exacted a heavy toll on those who dare to sow terror and desolation.

The 7th BIR focused its efforts on the forests of the Tuy province, where terrorists had established their hideouts. For several days, these brave soldiers meticulously cleared these areas, destroying at least five enemy bases, neutralizing numerous terrorists, and seizing a significant stockpile of weapons and logistics. Nothing was spared, and the commandos ensured that every corner where the enemy was hiding was rooted out and destroyed.

Meanwhile, the patriots of the 8th BIR turned their attention to terrorist bases in the Center-North region, targeting strongholds such as Samba Toyendé, Basnéré, Nasséré, Baskondo, and Nawoubkiba. In the latter base, in particular, the commandos’ show of force was impressive. Under the protection of aerial assets, they launched multiple assaults, inflicting severe losses on the enemy and recovering an impressive arsenal.

These undeniable successes testify to the unwavering commitment of the security forces under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré to protect the nation and its citizens. As the unsung heroes continue their daily struggle against the scourge of terrorism, it is essential to recognize their sacrifice and dedication to the service of the homeland.
