DRC : Suspension of the national team’s participation in CAF initiatives following behavior deemed outrageous

The national team of the Democratic Republic of Congo DRC  has decided to withdraw from solidarity activities and initiatives organized by the Confederation of African Football, following behavior deemed outrageous, according to the Minister of Communication and Media, Patrick Muyaya.

This measure comes after deliberation within the Council of Ministers, where the President of the Republic strongly condemned this act. Consequently, the national team’s participation in these initiatives will be suspended until further notice, it was announced.

The President of the Republic has clearly stated that, in response to this behavior deemed outrageous, the national team will no longer participate in any solidarity activities or initiatives promoted by CAF until appropriate measures are taken.

This decision illustrates the determination of the Congolese government to defend integrity and respect within African football, while demanding fair and respectful treatment of national teams participating in continental competitions.

Furthermore, the Head of State commended the team spirit exhibited by the Congolese players as well as the coaching staff. He expressed gratitude to the Congolese people for their unwavering support to the Leopards of the DRC since the beginning of this Africa Cup of Nations.
