Togo/BIOFACH 2024 : The organic sector to be showcased at the world organic products trade fair in Germany

A Togolese delegation is expected to attend the BIOFACH 2024 trade fair in Nuremberg, Germany, from February 13th to 16th. With its 2.700 exhibitors and over 46.000 visitors from 130 countries, the event is the world’s largest trade fair for organic food and agriculture.

For Togo, which is the world’s top exporter of organic soybeans to the EU, the focus will be on promoting organic products. This participation is expected to enhance the country’s competitiveness in the organic industry, within the framework of the Private Sector Competitiveness Improvement Program in Togo (ProComp).

This project is being implemented with the support of GIZ. Therefore, at this event, Togolese exhibitors, mainly Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) operating in the organic sector, will aim to establish commercial relationships with international partners through B2B meetings.

Additionally, there will be a stand set up to exhibit Togolese organic products. It is worth noting that between 2019 and 2020, Togo’s exports of organic agri-food products to the EU increased from 44.684 tonnes to 54.017 tonnes.
