Burkina Faso / President Ibrahim Traoré : A leader committed to development despite challenges of the war against terrorism

In a context where the terrorist threat weighs on the stability and development of Burkina Faso, President Ibrahim Traoré distinguishes himself by his unwavering commitment to promoting mobility and development in the localities of his country.

Despite the security challenges, the Burkinabe government under his leadership has launched an ambitious project aimed at revitalizing key cities in the country, demonstrating its strong determination to boost the economy and improve the quality of life of its citizens.

The Burkinabe Government has announced the launch of a large-scale project, worth 124 billion FCFA, aimed at facilitating mobility and development in strategic cities such as Ouagadougou, Bobo-Dioulasso, Kaya, and Ouahigouya.

This initiative, which will span over a period of 60 months, was officially launched on February 17, 2024, in Bobo-Dioulasso, marking the beginning of a new era of development for these localities.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Transport’s communication services, this project represents a major investment in the future of Burkina Faso. Bobo-Dioulasso will receive a budget of 51 billion FCFA, followed by Ouahigouya with 30 billion FCFA, Kaya with 29 billion FCFA, and finally Ouagadougou with 14 billion FCFA.

These funds will be allocated to initiatives aimed at improving transport infrastructure, modernizing public services, and promoting local economic development.

The impact of this project is not limited to infrastructure improvement. Indeed, its implementation will have positive repercussions on the economy of the affected cities as well as on the public health of their inhabitants.

By facilitating access to basic services and strengthening commercial ties, this initiative will contribute to stimulating economic growth and reducing social inequalities.
