Burkina Faso : The fight against terrorism intensifies under the presidency of Captain Ibrahim Traoré

Under the supreme command of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the fight against the scourge of terrorism in Burkina Faso remains resolutely firm and determined. Recent events near Djibo testify to the continued commitment of the Burkinabé Armed Forces in reclaiming national territory and protecting fellow citizens.

On February 18, 2024, commandos from the 14th Interarm Regiment (RIA) of Djibo conducted a large-scale operation east of the city, where a terrorist group had established its presence.

In a skillfully orchestrated ambush, the fighting forces neutralized several criminal elements, thus putting an end to their imminent threat. This courageous action also allowed for the recovery of war material, significantly weakening the operational capabilities of terrorists in the region.

On Wednesday, February 21, 2024, despite the losses suffered, the terrorists attempted to regroup their forces to assess the damage inflicted by the valiant troops. However, their presence did not go unnoticed, thanks to the vigilance of the RIA lookouts. Alerted, the fighting forces quickly mobilized their aerial assets, placing the terrorists in their crosshairs.

Trapped and cornered, the terrorists attempted to retreat towards an abandoned hamlet, unaware that they were already being closely followed. In an act of unparalleled bravery, the fighting forces coordinated a precise aerial strike, annihilating the bulk of the enemy troops. Some managed to escape the devastating flames, but their escape was short-lived.

Thus, under the resolute leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the terrorists were once again met with the unwavering determination of the Armed Forces. Their attempt to sow terror and chaos on Burkinabé soil was violently repulsed, and those who dare to challenge security in the land of the Honest Men will be relentlessly pursued until they are brought to account for their crimes before the law.
