Africa/CAF Champions League : Intense suspense for the last Quarter-Final spots

The final day of the group stage of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League promises to be full of suspense on March 1st and 2nd. The remaining two spots for the quarter-finals of the competition will be contested during this sixth and final day, with particular interest in Groups B and C.

In Group B, Wydad Casablanca (Morocco) got back on track after a difficult start in the competition, securing a 1-0 victory against Jwaneng Galaxy. With 6 points each, the Moroccan club and Tanzania’s Simba SC will vie for the second qualifying spot against ASEC Mimosas from Côte d’Ivoire and Jwaneng Galaxy respectively, on this final day.

In Group C, after Petro de Luanda’s qualification, the battle for the second spot will be between ES Tunis and Al-Hilal to clinch the last ticket for the quarter-finals. The two teams will meet on March 2nd in Tunis for a decisive match.

During the fifth matchday of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League, six teams have already secured their place in the quarter-finals : Al Ahly, ASEC Mimosas, Mamelodi Sundowns, Petro Luanda, TP Mazembe, and Young Africans.
