DRC : President Félix Tshisekedi in Qatar to strengthen ties and investment opportunities

President Félix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has embarked on a two-day visit to Qatar this Monday, marking a significant step towards strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. The primary objective of this mission is to promote economic cooperation and explore opportunities for closer trade exchanges between Qatar and the DRC.

On his first day in Doha, the Head of State visited the embassy of the DRC in Qatar, under the leadership of H.E. Mrs. Valérie Lusamba Kabeya, extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the DRC. Upon his arrival, President Tshisekedi was warmly welcomed by embassy staff, followed by a meeting with members of the Congolese community residing in the country.

Subsequently, President Félix held an important meeting with a delegation of ambassadors from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries. These ambassadors came to express their support for the defense of the sovereignty of the DRC, thus demonstrating strong regional solidarity towards the country.

The visit will continue tomorrow with high-level meetings and working sessions dedicated to economic cooperation between Qatar and the DRC. Qatar, eager to contribute to the development of the DRC, is considering investment opportunities in various key sectors such as transportation, infrastructure, mining, energy, and agriculture.

This visit is of paramount importance for the DRC, offering prospects for improving diplomatic ties and economic development through potential foreign investments. Qatar, on its part, demonstrates concrete interest in supporting the economic and social growth of the DRC, thereby paving the way for mutually beneficial collaboration between the two countries in the years to come.
