Burkina Faso : President Ibrahim Traoré strengthens his commitment to consumers and the national economy

In Burkina Faso on Monday, March 4, 2024, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Head of State and President of the Burkinabe Revolution, granted a significant audience to a delegation from the Consumer League of Burkina Faso (LCB), led by its chief, Dasmané Traoré.

During the meeting, the LCB expressed admiration and encouragement to the Head of State for the tangible results achieved on the ground, while highlighting the major concerns of Burkinabe consumers.

Dasmané Traoré, president of the LCB, emphasized the crucial importance of the economic aspect in addition to security issues, highlighting the difficulties faced by consumers on the ground. In particular, the LCB called on President Traoré to take decisive measures to end abusive practices by mobile phone operators, advocating for the introduction of a fourth operator in the sector to promote healthy competition and quality services for consumers.

Furthermore, the LCB strongly denounced fraudulent practices such as the transfer of rice into new bags for resale, describing these acts as “war crimes” against consumers. Concerns regarding the quality of healthcare, availability of pharmaceutical products, and artificial shortages of butane gas were also addressed during the meeting.

At the end of this fruitful audience, the president of the LCB expressed great satisfaction with the exchanges with the Head of State, reaffirming his organization’s commitment to work alongside Captain Ibrahim Traoré to achieve common goals aimed at improving the lives of consumers and promoting the economic well-being of the Burkinabe nation.
