TOGO : Dodzi Kokoroko sets up commissions to advance the School map initiative

The Minister of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education (MEPST), Professor Komla Dodzi Kokoroko, has just established a coordination committee for the implementation of the school map in Togo.

Professor Komla Dodzi Kokoroko has set up commissions to help ensure the implementation of the school map on a national level. The role of the coordination committee is to ensure the establishment of the school map. The decree establishing the committee specifies that the committee is chaired by the Minister in charge of primary and secondary education.

For the successful implementation of the initiative, the Committee will be assisted by a national technical team for the implementation of the school map (NTTIS). The team will then define the general framework of intervention. In this capacity, it is responsible for centralizing and analyzing all reports from the various regional teams.

According to the terms of Dodzi Kokoroko’s decree, the National Technical Team for the Implementation of the School Map (NTTIS) is led by the Director of Planning, Statistics, and Monitoring-Evaluation of the Ministry in charge of primary and secondary education.

Representative Commissions

There are also variations of these commissions at the regional, prefectural, and communal levels. At the regional level, there will be a Regional Commission. It will be responsible for analyzing the reports of the communal and prefectural commissions and the requests for the second cycle of secondary education. The decree provides that the Regional School Map Commission (CRCS) be chaired by the prefect of the regional capital.

The text also creates the Prefectural Commission for the School Map in the prefectures. It will be chaired by the prefect of each prefecture. In this capacity, it is responsible for centralizing and analyzing the reports of the communal and prefectural commissions and the requests for the first cycle of secondary education.

At the communal level, a technical coordination commission will be responsible for this mission. It will be tasked with analyzing requests for preschool and primary education in the municipality.
