Burkina Faso : Ibrahim Traoré, a President close to his people

If there is one characteristic that sets President Ibrahim Traoré apart from his predecessors and many other leaders on the African continent, it is his accessibility to the Burkinabe population.

Barely a year and a half into his governance, the number of popular meetings and audiences granted to his compatriots is countless. Eager to personally inquire about the difficulties faced by his governed, the Head of State does not hesitate to reach out to them in various regions and remote localities, or to receive them in audience, lending them an attentive ear.

President of the revolution, Captain Ibrahim Traoré is far from being a head of state high up in his palace, governing his country without considering the real problems of the inhabitants and the particularities of concerns according to localities.

Since his rise to power in Burkina, the population immediately saw President Traoré as a providential man, with whom their aspirations could finally be realized. Today, it can be affirmed that they were right.

In addition to the effective war strategy implemented to combat terrorism, with very remarkable results on the ground, President Ibrahim Traoré intends to make Burkina Faso a prosperous country by putting the people at the heart of his development policy. For him, it is time for Burkinabè to feel taken into account in governance, in order to strengthen social cohesion.

According to the vision of the Head of State, it is out of the question for a single Burkinabè to feel neglected or left behind. For this reason, he intends to address problems on a case-by-case basis, according to social category, living environment, or field of activity.

Thus, students, traders, economic operators, garbage collectors, professionals from banking and microfinance institutions, religious leaders, etc., in short, all the vital forces from different regions have been received and their concerns listened to by President Traoré, despite his very busy schedule. This availability further fuels the admiration of the population for the transition.

The most striking of his actions was the visit paid to the families of patriotic fighters who fell on the battlefield in the process of reconquering the national territory. This was a way for him to show compassion and support from the entire people for these families, who lost their sons or fathers, uncles or nephews in combat.

This show of solidarity further galvanized the men deployed on the various fronts, and encouraged them to give more, reassured that their bravery is recognized at its true value and their families will not feel abandoned, whatever happens.

The Burkinabe people, touched by this openness and spirit of empathy from the transitional leader, continue to show him their admiration and support. They intend to maintain this social cohesion and remain united behind the transition, to defeat together the forces of evil.
