President Faure Gnassingbé : Guarantor of security and peace in Togo

In a global context where security challenges are becoming increasingly complex and diversified, Togo under the presidency of H.E. Faure Gnassingbé has firmly committed to ensuring security and stability throughout its territory.

This commitment is translated into concrete actions, including massive investments in the training of the Togolese Armed Forces and the acquisition of cutting-edge equipment to effectively combat security threats.

Since assuming the presidency, President Faure Gnassingbé has placed national security among his priorities, recognizing that economic and social development cannot be achieved without a secure environment.

Thus, sustained efforts have been made to enhance the operational capacities of the Togolese Armed Forces, equipping them with the necessary skills to address current security challenges.

Togolese soldiers now benefit from advanced training programs, preparing them to deal with a variety of situations in the field, whether it be counterterrorism, peacekeeping, or border protection.

In addition to these efforts to strengthen human capacities, Togo has also embarked on acquiring state-of-the-art equipment for its Armed Forces. This modernization of the military arsenal reflects the government’s commitment to remain at the forefront of security technology, ensuring an effective response to emerging threats.

Furthermore, President Faure Gnassingbé has taken decisive measures to protect Togolese citizens from security threats by extending the state of security emergency for an additional 12 months in the Savanes region.

This decision, approved by the deputies gathered at the National Assembly, demonstrates the government’s determination to take preventive measures to ensure the security of populations in the most sensitive areas of the country.
