In Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s men neutralize several terrorists on multiple fronts
Since Captain Ibrahim Traoré came to power, Burkina Faso has intensified its relentless fight against terrorism. This weekend of March 16, 2024, the Combating Forces successfully conducted operations in the Center-North and East regions, resulting in the neutralization of several terrorists, the recovery of materials, and the consolidation of peace in certain localities, according to security sources from the Burkina Information Agency (AIB).
Following the extraterrestrial operations on March 15, 2024, which decimated several terrorists in the Kossouka area, hostile forces persisted in their intention to attack peaceful citizens at all costs. Despite counterattacks, groups of survivors attempted to resume their destructive actions but were met with a swift and effective response from security forces.
Aerial vectors played a crucial role in striking assailants before they could launch their planned attacks, not only in Kossouka but also in the Silmangue region. Security forces spotted and engaged a group of terrorists as early as March 15 in Tarpako, in the Yalgo area, where hundreds of criminals were preparing to attack.
Coordinated airstrikes were initiated at the opportune moment, annihilating a large number of assailants and preventing them from causing further damage. Operations continued successfully on March 17, where elements of the 5th rapid intervention battalion launched an offensive against criminals in Natiaboini, in the East of the country.
A major discovery was made during these operations: the location of a large terrorist base. An intervention commando was deployed and eliminated the terrorists after intense combat. The base was fully secured, weapons recovered, and facilities destroyed before forces set fire to the site and withdrew safely.
These successes demonstrate Burkina Faso’s unwavering commitment under Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s leadership to eradicate terrorism and ensure the security of its citizens. Security forces remain vigilant and ready to face any future threats to the country’s peace and stability.
