Burkina Faso : Ramadan Solidarity – Association provides provisions to 300 households
In Burkina Faso, the local branch of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulemas (FM6OA) recently demonstrated solidarity by providing provisions to 300 households, including rice, pasta, and oil, on the occasion of the month of Ramadan.
The president of this branch, Cheick Aboubacar Yugo, emphasized the importance of mutual assistance during the sacred month of Ramadan, and recalled that King Mohammed VI of Morocco ensures every year to assist the needy as well as those working in the Islamic field, such as preachers, teachers, and muezzins.
This act of solidarity consisted of distributing food kits to each beneficiary household, each containing a sack of rice, a sack of pasta, and a five-liter oil can. This marks the fifth such donation that King Mohammed VI, as Amir Al Mouminine, has made to Burkina Faso through the local branch of FM6OA during the month of Ramadan.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, noting that these provisions relieve needy families and assist those who struggle to break their fast due to lack of means.
Both the beneficiaries and the branch president expressed the hope that these solidarity actions continue and that donations increase to reach a larger number of households in need, especially as the precarious security situation has exacerbated the vulnerability of many households in Burkina Faso.
Furthermore, Cheick Aboubacar Yugo highlighted the role of FM6OA in promoting a “middle-of-the-road” Islam to counter extremist interpretations of the religion, thereby fostering social cohesion and peace within society.
