Burkina Faso : Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s Men annihilate terrorist pickup trucks loaded with fuel and ammunition from Mali

In Burkina Faso on Sunday, April 14, 2024, the Burkinabe army achieved another crucial victory in the Nassoumbou region, Soum province, by conducting targeted strikes against pickup trucks loaded with ammunition and fuel coming from Mali.

Indeed, the Malian air forces spotted a convoy of pickup trucks moving towards the Burkinabe border on Sunday, carrying a suspicious load of ammunition and fuel. Upon being alerted, they quickly informed their Burkinabe counterparts of the imminent threat.

Security sources report that Burkinabe reconnaissance aircraft tracked the pickup trucks to their parking location, hidden under trees north of Nassoumbou. While the assailants waited, unaware of the surveillance on them, Burkinabe air forces prepared their drones and other flying assets for decisive action.

In a swift operation, violent and precise strikes were launched against the vehicles and their contents. The pickup trucks were reduced to ruins, putting an end to the terrorists’ plans and thwarting their attempts at resupply.

This victory demonstrates the effectiveness and determination of Burkinabe security forces in their fight against terrorism and instability in the Sahel region. Security operations continue to ensure the protection of populations and the preservation of peace in the country.

It is worth noting that on April 8th, the President of Burkina Faso, President Ibrahim Traoré, handed over a significant number of aerial assets to the Ministry of Defense and Veterans Affairs as part of the effort to reclaim territory and combat terrorism.

This action adds to several other initiatives previously undertaken by President Ibrahim Traoré in the fight against terrorism and the restoration of peace and stability to the land of the upright people.
