Burkina Faso: When the balance of power now shifts in favor of the armed forces

The relentless war against terrorist groups continues unabated in Burkina Faso, with enormous losses inflicted on the enemy ranks every week. Resolutely committed to liberating their national territory, the armed forces, supported by the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP), are multiplying offensive operations and are quick and valiant in responding promptly to every assault by attacking groups against their positions or civilian populations.

This new turn in the war is made possible by the strengthening of the army. An increase in power facilitated by state-of-the-art equipment provided to the fighting troops, as well as a well-developed and effective war strategy.

While just a few years ago the criminals lived in conquered territory, even daring to taunt the army, they are now cornered on all sides. No longer having a foothold in any region of Burkina Faso, these criminals are forced to live hidden in forests and other remote areas. However, even in their last strongholds, they are still not safe from the army’s strikes.

Thanks to intelligence and surveillance devices, all movements of enemy forces are known, their presence located throughout the national territory, and their elements neutralized in large numbers.

With the acquisition of state-of-the-art aerial vectors and drones, vigilance is increased in all localities, especially in areas with high security challenges, such as border regions. For the transitional authorities, the objective is not to cede a single inch of territory to the assailants.

Acknowledging all these efforts invested in this fight, the Burkinabe people continue to show unwavering support for the transition and patriotic forces, ready to maintain resilience until the final victory over the attacking groups.
