AES Confederation/Counter-terrorism: Joint force proves its worth
“The joint force of the AES carried out airstrikes on terrorist targets during surveillance operations in the unified theater”, reads a statement from the General Staff of the FAMa, dated January 28, 2025. According to the statement, the close collaboration between intelligence services enabled the air assets of the confederation to locate, identify, and neutralize around thirty terrorists.
Terrorist leaders and several of their fighters were targeted by the air operators, along with war materials and logistics belonging to the Islamic State in the Greater Sahara (EIGS). All of this took place on January 28, to the east of MENAKA, bordering the Tahoua region in Niger. Further details regarding the identities of the neutralized leaders will be released after data evaluation, assured the General Staff.
According to the same statement, military operations are ongoing, and pressure will be maintained on criminals throughout the shared space. It is also worth noting that significant achievements were announced by the FAMa in the regions of Bandiagara, Tombouctou, and Ségou on January 27 and 28, 2025, inflicting heavy losses on the enemy.
