AES / Cooperation between Burkina Faso and Mali: A blow to France’s maneuvers

The cooperation between Burkina Faso and Mali is a thorn in the side of France, whose plan to destabilize the Sahel through terrorism is collapsing. Indeed, this strategic alliance not only demonstrates the willingness of the AES countries to defend each other but also to ensure security and stability in the region.

Burkina Faso and Mali, aware of the security challenges in the Sahel, have intensified their cooperation efforts. These two nations, often at the forefront of terrorist attacks, have understood that only close collaboration can effectively counter these threats, with the Burkinabè army able to enter Malian territory to pursue terrorists and vice versa. This cooperation is desired by Presidents Ibrahim Traoré of Faso and Assimi GOÏTA of Mali.

The core of this cooperation rests on three essential pillars, as highlighted by Malian President Assimi GOÏTA during his visit to his Burkinabè counterpart, Captain Ibrahim Traoré: strengthening military capabilities, joint training, and intelligence sharing. By uniting their forces, Burkina Faso and Mali have managed to develop common strategies to respond to terrorist attacks. Joint military exercises, cross-training, and equipment sharing are initiatives that create a more resilient and better-prepared regional force.

This cooperation between Burkina Faso and Mali is a direct response to France’s destabilizing maneuvers. The latter, seeking to sow chaos in the region through terrorism, sees its plans thwarted by the unity and determination of the AES countries. The stability of the Sahel is indeed a sine qua non for the economic and social development of the region, and any attempt at destabilization is firmly countered by these joint efforts.
