AES: The member states of the Confederation of Sahel States are determined to defend the profound aspirations of their peoples

The foreign ministers of the Confederation of Sahel States (AES) were received in audience on Monday by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré. This meeting is part of their visit to Ouagadougou, where they held a strategic meeting to lay the foundation for future collaboration with ECOWAS, while reaffirming the unity and determination of the member states of the Confederation to defend the aspirations of the Sahelian populations.

According to Abdoulaye Diop, Mali’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, the meeting took place in a fraternal and constructive atmosphere. The discussions confirmed a total convergence among the Heads of State of the Confederation, particularly on the need to preserve peace and security and to strengthen the diplomatic action of the Confederation. President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim TraorĂ©, reiterated his determination to continue this commitment, providing strategic guidance for the continuation of their joint efforts.

The ministers also announced significant progress, such as the launch, starting on January 29, of the Confederation’s passport. This initiative, symbolizing enhanced integration, reflects the member states’ desire to strengthen their union and build a more stable and prosperous future for the populations of the confederation.
