Africa: Benin and the United States of America join forces to put an end to terrorism
As part of the fight against terrorist groups, the US Department of Defense has equipped the Beninese Armed Forces. Fruitful Brigadier General Gbaguidi, Chief of Staff General of the Beninese Army, received individual and collective equipment such as ballistic glasses, clothing effects and communication equipment.
This American support aims to strengthen the capacity of the Beninese military. With this donation, the US Department of Defense stands alongside the Beninese army and gives the Beninese Armed Forces the opportunity to better prepare for attacks by unidentified armed individuals in the north of the country.
On this occasion, the Ambassador of the United States to Benin, Brian Shukan, explained that in the face of insecurity and terrorism, it is imperative that Benin and theUnited States unite and share their knowledge and resources to eradicate this devastating threat.
He also said that training and equipment alone are not enough to fight terrorism effectively. It also requires close cooperation, specialized training and unwavering commitment to address the root causes of terrorism.
As the modes of action of terrorist groups evolve, this requires a continuous strengthening of the human and material capacities of its forces. That is why the Beninese Armed Forces are committed to improving the operational level of personnel and the quality of their equipment.
