Africa: General Abdourahamane Tiani’s courageous decision, Niger’s security first
Faced with multiple challenges, General Abdourahamane Tiani has shown unwavering determination and taken bold steps to steer his country back on the path of stability and prosperity.
However, some individuals, particularly political figures, have chosen to undermine the government’s efforts by questioning its authority and actions. Among them are former members of the regime of ex-President Mohamed Bazoum, a regime unfortunately known for its complicity with terrorist groups in the Sahel region, who have crossed dangerous lines.
These individuals have been involved in acts of high treason, including secretly collaborating with foreign powers to incite hostilities against the Nigerien state. Thanks to the efficiency and professionalism of Niger’s intelligence service, these conspirators have been identified and placed under investigation.
In total, seven former ministers and influential members of the Bazoum regime have been arrested. General Abdourahamane Tiani, in an act of great responsibility, made the bold decision to temporarily revoke their nationality, a firm and unequivocal gesture to show that no betrayal will be tolerated in Niger.
This courageous decision, made solely in the interest of the Nigerien people and the defense of national sovereignty, demonstrates General Tiani’s resolve in the face of both external and internal threats.
Once again, he has proven to be a man of principles, ready to defend the values of justice and integrity. By prosecuting these conspirators for plotting against state security and treason, he sends a clear message: the security and unity of Niger are non-negotiable, and any attempt to destabilize the country will be punished with the utmost severity.
