The fight against the high cost of living is at the heart of the priorities of the government led by President Félix Tshisekedi. In a determined effort to improve the living conditions of the Congolese people, the government recently signed a decree aimed at reducing the prices of imported foodstuffs, a measure that has resonated strongly among households.

This long-awaited decision is now being implemented, bringing a breath of fresh air to Congolese households. In the same vein, the government has made agreements with the main importers in the country to reduce the cost of essential goods across the entire national territory.

These agreements foresee price reductions ranging from 5% to 11%, a percentage that, although modest, is expected to have a significant impact on household budgets, especially for the most vulnerable. By reducing the cost of basic products, the government aims to help every Congolese citizen face daily economic challenges with greater ease.

Support measures for local production, as well as incentives for the diversification of imports, are also in the works. The ultimate goal is to ensure sustainable food security for all Congolese, while stimulating domestic production and reducing dependence on imports.

Under the leadership of President Félix Tshisekedi, the DRC is thus embarking on the path of inclusive economic growth, with a focus on improving the well-being of its citizens.
