Algeria: In solidarity with the Palestinian people, a truce is put to any festive activity until further notice

The Minister of Culture and Arts, Soraya Mouloudji announced Friday in a statement «the suspension of all festive activities until further notice» in solidarity with the Palestinian people and the families of the martyrs following the Zionist entity’s murderous attacks on Gaza and the West Bank.

«The suspension and postponement of all festive activities comes in the wake of the catastrophic situation of our Palestinian brothers following the deadly attacks of the Zionist entity against the Palestinian people in Ghaza and the occupied West Bank, Hundreds of martyrs and wounded have been killed every day since last Saturday» the statement reads.

In these painful circumstances, Mrs Mouloudji presents in her name and on behalf of all Algerian intellectuals and artists, her sincere condolences to the Palestinian people brother, praying Allah, the Almighty, to give patience and comfort to the families of the martyrs and prompt recovery to the wounded, while reaffirming the total solidarity of Algerian intellectuals and artists with the Palestinian people and its glorious Resistance.

Yesterday, according to the Commissioner General of UNRWA, Philippe Lazzarini, «the scale and speed of the ongoing humanitarian crisis are chilling. Gaza is becoming a living hell and is on the brink of collapse». In addition, the UN is particularly concerned about 50.000 pregnant women in the Ghaza Band without access to care, including about 5.500 expected to give birth in the coming month.
