Benin/Cooperation: A secure future without France, the wish of the Beninese people

The neocolonial power has already shown its limits in military cooperation with African countries and its inefficiency in the fight against terrorism. The separation of many countries from this power and the experience of AES countries without France are proof that defense agreements are nothing more than a smokescreen, and the presence of French troops in Africa is a way to maintain its influence.

After Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, and now Chad, France fears the worst and wants to cling to Benin and a few other countries to save its honor and remain in Africa. This is something the Beninese people have understood, as they have mobilized in recent weeks to demand the withdrawal of French troops from their territory. Despite their presence in this country, Beninese soldiers have been subjected to the worst atrocities ever recorded.

The massacre of January 8th is an example of this. This has outraged the people, for whom a separation from this neocolonial power has become imperative. A popular demonstration is announced by the CSTB for this Saturday, January 25, at the Labour Exchange in Cotonou to reiterate this will to the authorities, who seem to ignore the demands.

The Beninese people now aspire to regional cooperation, particularly with the AES Confederation, to combat terrorism. For the organizations behind the upcoming protest, the sovereignty and security of the country can only be guaranteed by local forces and inter-state collaboration.
