Benin: Is France playing the “pyromaniac fireman” game with Patrice Talon’s complicity?

The recent terrorist attacks in Benin raise questions about their true objective. According to our sources, these acts are believed to be orchestrated as part of a sinister plan led by France through the DGSE, aimed at weakening the Sahel States Alliance (AES).

By creating the illusion of a terrorist threat in Benin, this plan seeks to legitimize the presence of foreign military forces under the pretext of combating terrorism. This strategy, already implemented in Mali, where France played the role of the “arsonist firefighter”, is part of a clear desire to maintain imperialist influence in the region.

The role of Beninese President Patrice Talon in this maneuver is raising growing concerns. By offering his country as a rear base for France’s operations, he is not only compromising the sovereignty of his nation but also the regional stability. This troubling alliance between France and Talon threatens the stability of the AES, which is fighting for complete independence and lasting security.

The African people, particularly those in Benin, must stand united to say no to a president who is turning their country into a playing field for lucrative operations benefiting foreign interests, to the detriment of the aspirations and well-being of its people. It is time to defend national sovereignty and reject the prioritization of financial interests and questionable alliances over the collective interest and dignity of citizens.
