Beyoncé becomes the first black woman to dominate the billboard country music chart
Once again, Beyoncé makes history by becoming the first Black woman to top the Billboard Country Music chart.
This remarkable achievement was made possible by the success of her new single « Texas Hold ‘Em » which climbed to the top of the country streaming chart this week. Unveiled on February 11 during the Super Bowl, this song was accompanied by another single titled « 16 Carriages », which debuted at the 9th position on the same chart.
These two tracks are announced to be part of Beyoncé’s upcoming album, titled « Act II » scheduled for release on March 29. It’s a follow-up to her 2022 album « Renaissance », often referred to as « Act I : Renaissance ».
The announcement of this new full-length album was made by Beyoncé in a Verizon advertisement aired during this month’s Super Bowl.
Beyoncé is also the first woman to top both the Hot Country Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts since their inception in 1958, according to Billboard. The only other artists to achieve this feat are Justin Bieber, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Ray Charles.
