Burkina Faso : A column of terrorists is neutralized on the outskirts of Nassoumbou
In Burkina Faso on Thursday, January 4, 2024, aerial assets, including attack helicopters, inflicted casualties on a column of terrorists planning a large-scale attack on Nassoumbou (Djibo, Sahel), according to credible sources contacted by the AIB.
On January 4, 2024, a column of terrorists coming from the Malian border surged into the Nassoumbou area, intending a significant attack. Thanks to intelligence, they were spotted at the outskirts of the locality in time.
Sensing the arrival of aerial assets, the criminals immediately turned back. Over a hundred pairs on motorcycles were seen heading towards the border and Boulekessi in Malian territory.
However, the terrorists’ worst fears were confirmed with the intervention of helicopters that began striking their targets.
As a result, some terrorists on motorcycles, under the hail of fire, started burning like torches, while others who escaped the strikes dispersed into a nearby small forest.
The attack helicopters then began searching for them. Several criminals were decimated in their escape, but a few managed to enter Malian territory, where they would likely be confronted by allied forces. Operations continue to rid the national territory of the terrorist threat.
