Burkina Faso: A new agro-pastoral offensive to transform agriculture
As part of the ambitious agro-pastoral offensive initiated by President Ibrahim Traoré, the Ministry of Agriculture has recently received 400 tractors. These modern equipments will be immediately made available to farmers to support ongoing agricultural campaign efforts.
The agro-pastoral and fisheries offensive is part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at revitalizing key sectors such as rice, maize, potatoes, wheat, as well as the fishing and livestock sectors. This initiative aims to sustainably address the chronic food deficits affecting the country, while opening up new economic prospects for local producers.
By investing heavily in these sectors, the government hopes not only to improve national food security but also to stimulate rural economic growth. The recently acquired tractors will play a crucial role in increasing the efficiency and productivity of farmers, thus enabling more intensive and sustainable exploitation of arable land.
This offensive marks a decisive turning point for the Burkinabe agricultural sector. It represents a strong commitment from the government to transform agricultural production and offer a more prosperous future to the country’s producers.
