Burkina Faso / AES: Towards a Digital Interconnection to stimulate growth and combat corruption
The President of Faso, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, held a meeting this Thursday with the ministers responsible for Digital Transition from the member countries of the “Alliance of Sahel States” (AES), on the sidelines of the 19th edition of the Digital Week taking place in Burkina Faso. This meeting is part of efforts to strengthen digital cooperation among AES member countries.
Accompanied by Burkina Faso’s Minister for Digital Transition, Postal Services, and Electronic Communications, Dr. Aminata Zerbo/Sabane, the delegation also included Mali’s Minister for Communication, Digital Economy, and Administration Modernization, Alhamdou Ag Ilyène, and Niger’s Minister, Sidi Mohamed Raliou.
The ministers briefed President Traoré on the progress of their work, highlighting advances made on the directives issued by the AES Heads of State in the field of digital technology and communication.
Alhamdou Ag Ilyène emphasized the significant support provided by President Ibrahim Traoré, who offered guidance and advice to help optimize the ongoing initiatives. “The President of Faso has given us great support ; he provided valuable recommendations to ensure that AES’s digital communication meets the needs of our populations”, he stated.
For his part, Sidi Mohamed Raliou, Niger’s Minister, stressed the importance of digital interconnection among member countries and noted that President Traoré emphasized the digitization of public administration as an effective tool in the fight against corruption.
