Burkina Faso: Launch of the agro-pastoral campaign with the deployment of tractors
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Resources, and Fisheries organized the deployment of tractors for free plowing in favor of producers at the end of last week. For this operation, Agricultural Mechanization Brigades (AMB), led by Brigade Chiefs, are established in each commune of the country. The tractor operators will carry out the plowing according to the directives of the Brigade Chiefs.
In his speech, Secretary General Gaoussou SANOU strongly emphasized the importance of avoiding any malpractice during the execution of the work. “These tractors were entirely acquired by the State. They are intended to plow the fields of producers free of charge, without distinction, in accordance with the will of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE. You are responsible for the proper execution of this mission. We warn against any form of malpractice that could undermine the efforts made by the State. We will be uncompromising, and there will be no leniency for misconduct”, he stated.
In this first phase of deployment, six regions are involved, namely Boucle du Mouhoun, Cascades, Hauts-Bassins, Center-West, Center-South, and South-West. It should be recalled that on Monday, May 6, President of Faso Captain Ibrahim TRAORE handed over a batch of agropastoral equipment and inputs, including 400 tractors, to the Minister of Agriculture, Animal Resources, and Fisheries, Commander Ismaël SOMBIE.
