Burkina Faso/Anti-Terrorism Fight : Fighters (FDS and VDP) continuously utilize means and assets at their disposal

For a more effective fight against terrorism and the reconquest of national territory, many measures have been taken by the transitional authorities to strengthen the capacity of fighters, whether they are Defense and Security Forces (FDS) or their auxiliaries, the VDP. This justifies their exploits on the battlefield.

Such is the case of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) from Tansila, a locality located in the Banwa province, Boucle du Mouhoun region. These brave Burkinabé warriors demonstrated bravery and promptness on Monday, May 13th, by giving a good lesson to their enemies, who thought to surprise them in order to annihilate them.

Well-equipped and being on alert shortly before the arrival of the assailants, the brave fighters successfully faced them, jeopardizing their diabolical plan to sow chaos within the VDP position and in the locality. They managed to neutralize thirty-three (33) of these criminals and recover their war materials, including a PKMS type machine gun, 3 motorcycles, and 1 tricycle.

Unfortunately, according to information from security sources, relayed by the AIB, in their escape, the terrorists indiscriminately fired on the civilian population, resulting in 6 victims and one injured child. A wounded VDP member was also taken care of. The deceased lost their lives and the wounded shed their blood so that their country may find peace and stability.

The fight must therefore continue with intensity to honor them, by achieving the great victory over the enemies and completely liberating the territory of the upright men. To do this, the authorities are doubling their efforts and the fighters are further committing to their mission.
