Burkina Faso: Army General Assimi Goïta honors excellence and inspires Malian youth to build for the future

The President of the Transition of Mali, Army General Assimi Goïta, continues to prioritize education, as demonstrated by the recent award ceremony for the Excellence Prizes given to the June 2024 baccalaureate graduates. This event, held in the presence of senior officials, including the ministers of National Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, as well as the Prime Minister, honored 160 new graduates for their outstanding academic achievements.

During the ceremony, Education Minister Dr. Amadou Sy Savane praised the commitment of the graduates and emphasized the importance of education in the process of rebuilding the state. He noted that the attention given by the Transition authorities to the education sector is crucial for developing a strong and capable new generation ready to face tomorrow’s challenges.

In his speech, General Assimi Goïta congratulated the graduates and urged them to persevere with discipline in their studies and life choices. For him, success results from informed choices and viewing challenges as opportunities for growth. He encouraged these young people to always aim for excellence and to set ambitious goals.

Bintou Flamousso Diallo, the top national graduate in the baccalaureate, expressed gratitude on behalf of her peers to the President and the government’s efforts to enhance the quality of education in Mali. She promised that the new graduates would continue to proudly represent Mali. The ceremony concluded with a family photo, marking a moment of recognition and commitment to the country’s future.
