Burkina Faso: Around hundred terrorists neutralized during a counter-attack
A VDP camp located about fifteen kilometers from the city of Ouahigouya (Yatenga Province) was the target of a terrorist attack on Saturday, April 15 in Burkina Faso.
In response, local military units mobilized and repelled the attack, neutralizing around fifty terrorists and destroying significant amounts of their equipment.
The following day, under similar conditions, the Burkinabe army neutralized several other terrorists in the Bam zone.
Over the weekend, there were multiple terrorist attacks in Burkina Faso following the death of Jafar Dicko, a notorious terrorist leader.
The terrorists attacked a VDP camp near Ouahigouya, resulting in the military neutralizing 50 terrorists and destroying significant amounts of equipment. Another attack on a military detachment in Kongoussi resulted in 20 terrorists being neutralized and 30 motorcycles recovered. The military is intensifying its efforts to reconquer the national territory.
Furthermore, on Sunday, April 16, another attack targeted the military detachment in Kongoussi (Bam Province). The particularly strong response from the military allowed them to inflict heavy losses on the enemy.
Thus, the air units intercepted a few kilometers from Kongoussi the remaining terrorists who were attempting to escape. The tally shows that around twenty terrorists were neutralized, and thirty (30) motorcycles were recovered in addition to other destroyed/recovered equipment.
Unfortunately, two (02) soldiers lost their lives due to injuries sustained in combat. On the other hand, two (02) wounded were evacuated for treatment by the army health services.
Therefore, the Chief of General Staff of the Burkina Faso Armed Forces saluted the memory of the fallen soldiers and VDP in a statement and offered his sincere condolences to their loved ones. Additionally, he wished a speedy recovery to the injured receiving medical care.
To top it all off, the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining the positive momentum that has been ongoing for several months, while reassuring the public that no blow, no matter how tough, will dampen the morale of the combat units engaged in reconquering Burkina Faso’s national territory.
The terrorists must understand that they must lay down their arms or die.
