Burkina-Faso: Attempted coup foiled/Intelligence and security services and citizen watch engaged by the People

The government of Burkina Faso, through a statement, confirmed the rumors about the attempted coup foiled against the transition on September 26, and which led thousands of Burkinabe in the streets of the capital, on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, September 27.

«The government informs the public that the attempted coup d’état has been foiled by the intelligence services and security services» the statement said. According to reports, officers and other persons complicit in this plot are arrested and some wanted.

Once again, the promptness of Burkinabe intelligence, patriotism and the high sense of duty of the defense and security forces, took over and allowed the authorities to avoid the chaos in which these individuals wanted to plunge the country.

The president of the transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, a visionary man, has once again shown his commitment and dedication to freeing Burkina from any form of influence and any individual wanting to sabotage the process of reconquest of the territory.

As for the Burkinabe population, especially the youth who are committed to defending and protecting the country against all enemies of the homeland, are to be congratulated. His support for the transition is well established.

This spontaneous mobilization on Tuesday night against this plot of destabilization of power, is welcomed by the Traoré government. He further invites him to «vigilance in the face of cleverly maintained amalgams, especially on social networks, tending to involve certain personalities, including the Chief of Staff General of the Armies and the Ambassador of Burkina Faso to Ghana».

The government finally reassures that light will be shed on this attempt to destabilize in order to situate the responsibilities.
