Burkina Faso: Burkinabe Fighting Forces succeed in new operation, eliminating a High-Ranking GSIM member

The Defense and Security Forces (the FDS) of Burkina Faso, supported by the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), continue to achieve significant successes in their fight to reclaim national territory.

These successes are the result of the strategies and reforms implemented by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, as well as the acquisition of sophisticated, state-of-the-art military equipment. The patriotic support of the Burkinabè people, manifested through donations in kind and in cash, also plays a crucial role in this dynamic.

The most recent victory, which occurred on July 25, 2024, perfectly illustrates this determination and effectiveness. During this operation, the FDS and VDP neutralized 15 terrorists in the Kossi province, including an important figure of the so-called Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (GSIM), Sangaré Boukary, also known as Abou Fadima, aged 43.

This victory marks an important milestone in the ongoing fight for the security and stability of Burkina Faso. It demonstrates that the combined efforts of the FDS, VDP, and the Burkinabe people are bearing fruit and helping to repel the malevolent forces threatening the country.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré, through his reforms and determination, continues to lead Burkina Faso towards a safer and more stable future. The neutralization of Sangaré Boukary, alias Abou Fadima, is a significant blow to GSIM and a strong signal of the Burkinabe Forces’ ability to protect their territory and ensure the safety of their fellow citizens.

Thus, this recent victory not only highlights the effectiveness of the Burkinabe fighting forces but also the resilience and unity of a people determined to defend their country against any form of terrorism.
