Burkina Faso: Captain Ibrahim Traoré, a fervent advocate of sport as an engine for social cohesion and youth emancipation

The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, continues to affirm his commitment to sport as a factor of cohesion and youth empowerment. During a morning meeting with the Stallions, the national football team qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) in Morocco, he inspired the players by emphasizing their unifying role. “Your victories inspire and motivate even our fighters on the front lines,” he highlighted, while urging them to cultivate a combative and collective spirit, essential elements for overcoming the challenges ahead.

This interaction also served as an opportunity for the Head of State to praise the efforts of the Ministry of Sports and the Burkinabe Football Federation in strengthening harmony within the team. Appreciating the progress made, he encouraged them to continue in this direction while offering specific advice to improve performance, particularly by creating a “game-changer” capable of making a difference in crucial matches.

In a context where sport transcends social and political divides, Captain Ibrahim Traoré reminded the players that they represent the hope of a nation. In response, the Stallions reaffirmed their determination to honor their mission, under the watchful eye of a President who prioritizes sport for national unity and the development of Burkinabe youth.
