Burkina Faso : Captain Ibrahim Traoré officially hands over combat drones to the Burkinabe army
Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of the Transition and Head of State of Burkina Faso, officially handed over a dozen combat drones to the Burkinabe army. These aircraft, acquired thanks to various contributions from Burkinabe citizens, mainly consist of Bayraktar TB2 and Bayraktar Akinci drones.
During the handover ceremony, the Head of State expressed satisfaction with this new acquisition, stating, « All tests have been successful; it is therefore a pride to confirm that these aircraft are joining the fleet of the Burkinabe army ». He also reassured about the performance of these drones, emphasizing that the Bayraktar TB2 is already well-known for its capabilities and that the Bayraktar Akinci has exceeded initial technical expectations.
Captain Traoré expressed his gratitude to Turkey, the country where these drones were developed. He thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for the support provided to Burkina Faso. « Today, we can say that cooperation with Turkey is going very well. The President of the Transition also praised the Burkinabe people for their commitment and various contributions that enabled the acquisition of these aircraft. « Everything you see is thanks to the people that we can acquire these aircraft, which will increase our operational capacity.
