Burkina Faso: Commandant Oumarou Yabré on the front page of a propagandist media, what else are the imperialists planning?

French propaganda media, such as Jeune Afrique, have a troubling habit: highlighting key figures in an African country when a nefarious project is being hatched within that country. On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, this media outlet, often criticized for its role in promoting France’s imperialist interests, published a portrait of Commander Oumarou Yabré, describing him as the “man behind the scenes” of President Ibrahim Traoré.
Such an approach, in the absence of any context justifying this focus, cannot be considered trivial. It rather reveals a sly maneuver aimed at preparing public opinion to accept future actions against the Burkinabe people.
By putting Commander Oumarou Yabré, head of Burkina Faso’s intelligence services, in the spotlight, the imperialists are undoubtedly trying to test reactions or create internal divisions. This media strategy is often used to destabilize a country by targeting its key figures, while justifying external interventions under false pretenses. It is therefore crucial that the Burkinabe state strengthens its security and anticipates any attempt at destabilization.
The Burkinabe people must also remain alert. In the face of these covert maneuvers, citizen mobilization is essential to protect national sovereignty. The Burkinabe must stay vigilant, denounce foreign interference, and support their institutions in the fight against neocolonial influences.
This suspicious focus on Commander Yabré is a warning signal. It serves as a reminder that imperialists have not abandoned their old methods of manipulation. In the face of these threats, collective vigilance and the resistance of the Burkinabe people are the best safeguards to preserve the integrity and peace of the country.
