Burkina Faso / Council of Ministers: Significant advances in the country’s development under the presidency of Captain Ibrahim TraorĂ©
In Burkina Faso, the government is pursuing its commitment to the country’s development through a series of strategic decisions. At the recent the Council of Ministers meeting in Ouagadougou, chaired by the President of the Burkinabe Revolution, H.E. Captain Ibrahim TraorĂ©, a number of crucial measures were examined and important decrees adopted.
One of these key case concerns the energy and mining sector, where the Council approved a report on three draft decrees.
The first decree focuses on the conditions for installing and operating charging stations for electric vehicles. According to the Minister of Trade, Serge Gnaniodem PODA, who is acting for the Minister of Energy, this decision aims to facilitate the development of this activity in Burkina Faso. The benefits include environmental protection and energy savings.
The second case concerns measures to improve the financial performance of SONABEL, Burkina Faso’s national electricity company. This decree should enable SONABEL to take full advantage of solar energy, in response to the country’s growing demand for electricity.
The Council of Ministers also adopted a decree on the nomenclature of positions and local employment quotas in mining companies, in accordance with the provisions of the Mining Code. This measure encourages the employment of Burkinabé citizens within these companies, while at the same time regulating jobs held by expatriates. It is part of the fight against unemployment and contributes to the economic development of Burkina Faso.
These decisions demonstrate the commitment of the government of Burkina Faso, under the enlightened leadership of President Ibrahim TraorĂ©, to promote economic growth, strengthen the energy sector and offer more employment opportunities to local citizens, while continuing to regulate the mining sector, which is crucial for the country. These advances mark an important step in Burkina Faso’s continued development.
