Burkina Faso : Council of Ministers under the Presidency of Captain Ibrahim Traoré : Some major decisions for the Transition
The weekly Council of Ministers convened this Wednesday under the presidency of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of the Transition and Head of State in Burkina Faso. During this session, several important issues were discussed and adopted, marking crucial decisions for the progress of the Transition, as highlighted by the Government Spokesperson, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo.
Under the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Prospective, the Council reviewed a dossier concerning the project maturation guide. The Minister of Finance, Aboubakar Nacanabo, explained that the current version from 2018 had limitations and did not address current priorities. The new version of the guide aims to improve these aspects, including incorporating the examination of project documents by the Council of Ministers during their development, to align these projects with current priorities, in connection with the Action Plan for stabilization and development.
A second dossier concerned the operation to control the services performed, attendance, and remuneration elements of government employees, especially those of the National Agency for Primary Healthcare. This operation revealed that over 500 employees were in irregular situations, receiving fictitious remuneration, or holding dual mandates.
The Council provided clear guidance to rectify these irregularities and to penalize all individuals involved directly or indirectly. These measures reflect the government’s commitment to ensuring transparent and efficient management of public resources, as well as safeguarding the integrity and legitimacy of the public administration within the framework of the Transition in Burkina Faso.
