During the traditional flag-raising ceremony across various communes in Burkina Faso, local authorities have called for increased patriotism and unity, urging both civilians and military personnel to contribute to the fight against terrorism. The civilian population is encouraged to show more resilience and sacrifice, while soldiers have been praised for their bravery and reminded to stay focused on the nation’s cause.
The battle against terrorism in the country continues to intensify, with the aim of pushing these bloodthirsty criminals beyond the borders of Burkina Faso and the Sahel region. Authorities are ramping up their efforts and implementing more effective strategies to combat this growing threat. However, the population, passionate about peace and security, is also called upon to remain steadfast in supporting these efforts, ensuring greater solidarity for a more impactful fight.
In the commune of Pô, for example, the president of the special delegation encouraged citizens to honor the ultimate sacrifice made by their soldiers and to stay mobilized in unison with the authorities and fighters for the country’s total liberation from its enemies. A similar sentiment was echoed in the commune of Houndé, located in the Tuy province of the Hauts-Bassins region.
Haut-commissaire Issiaka Segda emphasized that the complete eradication of terrorism in the region hinges on a sincere, courageous, and discreet collaboration between the population and the Defense and Security Forces (FDS). According to him, the decline in insecurity in the Tuy province is a result of the professionalism and determination of the FDS and Volunteer Defense Forces (VDP) to eliminate this scourge. A genuine and strong partnership will undoubtedly lead to the final victory.
